PHNW Fest Preview: Obstacle Corpse

Geeky music head that I am, I’ll appreciate any band that names itself after a Karp song. That is where the influence ends with Obstacle Corpse, as you’ll hear below.

This little project is the child of Corydon Ronnau, who spends his other waking hours making noise as member of Sissy Spacek. His performance at the Pure Harsh Noise Worship Festival is one of the first that he’s doing after what has been deemed by another website as a “unexplained lengthy hiatus.”

Maybe Ronnau will spill out the details if we corner him at the festival, but I’d much rather stay out of his way and let him muscle his guitar into submission and create an approximation of lying down underneath a elevated train track or being stuck inside an industrial turbine engine.
