I had the distinct pleasure of speaking with Jonathan Sielaff and Matt Carlson, the two gents that make up the great Golden Retriever, for a piece published in today’s Willamette Week. Among other topics, we touched on their creative methods and working with their new label Thrill Jockey.
This wasn’t my first interview with the boys, as I had sat down with them at Matt’s apartment a while ago with the intention of using the interview for a podcast I was doing briefly. But, I gave up on the podcast and then lost the interview somewhere. So, by posting this thing, I’m both offering a treat to my readers (I hope) and making it up to Matt and Jonathan for misplacing our original interview. So, please, check out this interview and then do yourself a favor and pick up the duo’s latest album Occupied with the Unspoken.
